The Third Annual Rock 4 Research
On Friday Nov. 27th, 2009 the Tumornators will host their third annual Rock4Research benefit concert at The Peachtree Tavern in Atlanta, GA. This year's Rock4Research will be a return to our roots. Our first ever R4R was hosted by the Peachtree Tavern, we are excited to hold this great event back at one of our favorite venues! Headlining the show will be Matt Moore, featuring Nashville's rising star singer/songwriter Matt Moore. Moore, drummer Matt Barnett, bassist Trey Dunlap, and lead guitar Ricky Alexander all graduated from Parkview High School with the Leathers brothers and have been pivotal in organizing this annual event. The unbelievable efforts of Moore, Barnett, and the rest of the band truly exemplify what strength in our community is really about. R4R will also feature Corey Crowder! Another Lilburn native, Corey's blend of folk/rock will play on the energy built around this unbelievable evening. Opening this 3rd annual R4R will be a splash of melodic tones by Shannon McArthur. Shannon is a North Carolina native that is building an impressive following. We are thrilled about this years talent, and we look forward to another incredible evening of music supporting a great cause.

The Tumornators is a fundraising group started by the Leathers/Cone family in conjunction with The Children’s Tumor Foundation™ that is dedicated to raising money and awareness to end Neurofibromatosis (NF) and Schwannomatosis through research.
Drew Leathers was diagnosed with this rare condition at age 16. This year however has been truly out of a movie for Drew, a horror movie. For the year to date Drew has undergone three back surgeries, has spent more than 150 days in a hospital, has become paraplegic, gained 70lbs from steroid treatments and immobility, and still remains in unbearable pain. The truly amazing part, is that he refuses to quit. He refuses to break, and he always has a smile and a joke, though normally through gritted teeth. The Tumornators are dedicated to win this fight, and with your help we will!
Thanks to the generosity of thousands of people, the grassroots campaign has raised over $150,000 through fundraisers and donations. All funds raised are donated directly to The Children’s Tumor Foundation™ so that Drew and others like him can live a life free of the devastating impact of this disorder.
The Tumornators continue to dream bigger and bigger, hoping to reach $500,000 in total donations to The Children’s Tumor Foundation™ during the next year. Last year's Rock4Research was another huge success, yet as this special family knows, it is simply just another step in the journey.

Let’s face it, today we are inundated with articles about cooking, food, and wine in almost every part of our lives. From The Wall Street Journal to Playboy Magazine, you’d be hard pressed not to find a commentary related to the subject of food. At a time when I’m trying to figure out my best financial opportunities or determine which girl of the SEC is the best looking, why am I being told how to cook something? The simple answer is women. Don’t get me wrong, a quick glance at any men’s magazine will always yield the same redundant taglines; “Lose your Gut,” “1001 Financial Solutions,” or “Score your Dream Job” on the cover. However, by now the majority of writers have exhausted the subjects of health, wealth, and power as a means to attract women, and they realize that cooking is just another avenue that they can use to appeal to the wants and needs of their readers. Don’t trust me? Take a stroll through the magazine aisle at your local grocery store, and you might find that even Field and Stream has gone haute-cuisine on your latest hunt. Confused by the last sentence? Good, this book is for you.
